« RSS » Selective Passive Skimmer is designed as follow :
- Tank for gazoline storage fitted up with a ¼ bottom discharged valve for emptying,
-Oleophilic / hydrophobic membrane « SILMEM™ » for oil recovery.
-Design for LNAPLs such as gasoline, kerozen, unleaded, etc… - Suspension cable stopping the system, when the skimmer is full.
HOW IT WORKS :
RSS Selective Passive Skimmer is placed to the interface water/hydrocarbure.
The suspension cable must be in contact with the bottom of the tank.
The « SILMEM™ » membrane is catching the LNAPL oil and allows the separation Oil with Water.
The recovered product is then filled into the tank. The RSS Skimmer sinks into the water, when the tank is full or the suspension cable is in contact with the upper zone of the tank,.
The RSS Skimmer can be removed from the well and be empty before installing it again. A 12 Volts peristaltic pump could be used for pumping product inside the tank (option)
